The government does not control the media. The media is a private organization that operates with the end goal of its own financial success, just like most businesses. Over decades of news, news companies have found that more people watch the news when this type of thing is kept out of the news. We are not seeing these news clips/stories largely because so many people do not want to see it. The way I see it, all parties are to blame. The people who stop watching the news when something hard-to-take comes up and the news corporations for not focusing their material on what people actually ought to know. Also, what story is actually behind this clip? What is actually going on in this gif? That’s what I’d like to know.
